Brachycephalic dog care in Denny

At Apex Vets, we know that Pugs, Boston Terriers, French Bulldogs, and similar breeds make fabulous family pets. They are lovable characters with big personalities, and we love when they visit our Denny practice! 

However, our experienced team of dog vets are also well aware of the challenges faced by brachycephalic dog breeds. As such, we have special protocols in place for the care of our short-nosed friends.

Our anaesthetic regime is adjusted to take into account the conformation of the airways, and short-nosed dogs will receive additional nursing support during recovery as standard.

We regularly perform routine surgery and emergency surgery on brachycephalic dogs which can range from neutering and dentistry to all investigative diagnostics. Our Apex Vets team are experienced in tailoring medical care to suit the patient and will always discuss the procedure and any associated risks before proceeding with the treatment plan.  Our surgical certificate holder Claire can perform the BOAS surgery in-house on our patients as well as patients referred to us from the local area.
