Treat your rabbit’s sweet tooth
With their taste for something a bit sweet, rabbits are easy to treat – but, just as with other pets, there are some dos and don’ts you need to bear in mind before loading up their food bowl.
When feeding rabbits treats, it can be easy to overindulge them, so make sure the variety of foods are always part a natural, vegetarian diet that is high in fibre, in moderation and a good fit with their normal diet. If you have any questions we’re here to advise you – just contact us for more information.

Don’t feel tempted to share any of your own sweet treats with your rabbit – chocolate in particular is poisonous to bunnies as our vet warns.
When treating your rabbit you must also steer clear of foods that are high in carbohydrates, such as breads, crackers, pasta, pretzels, crisps or cereals, as these will quite quickly lead to weight gain.
