Ultrasound for pets in Denny

Ultrasound diagnostics allow for safe examination of internal cavities, performing biopsies and visualising organs, such as your pet’s heart, kidney, liver, and bladder. Our team also use ultrasound to confirm pet pregnancies and check for bladder stones. We can also scan pregnant patients and often give accurate information regarding whelping dates. Some of our team are also able to perform heart scans (echocardiography), allowing for rapid diagnosis of heart issues without the need for referral.

On-site digital x-ray facilities

Being able to see what’s going on inside an animal can be crucial to their correct diagnosis and treatment, especially as our pets cannot tell us what part of their anatomy hurts. Digital x-rays provide instant visuals of internal injuries and health problems. Having digital x-ray facilities on-site gives our vets the ability to share x-ray data by email. This means we can refer x-ray images without necessarily referring your pet, allowing for a much quicker diagnosis of ailments that require a specialist opinion.

Pet endoscopy

Endoscopy involves passing a very narrow camera into a body cavity and is used to diagnose many illnesses in a non-invasive manner. We have several different endoscopes including our HD (1080p) gastroscope and can examine the stomach, small intestines, colon, bladder, and lungs using this non invasive technique. We regularly use the endoscope to successfully retrieve household objects that dogs swallow such as cocktail sticks or other sharp objects (that may otherwise require full surgery).

Our onsite laboratory in Denny

In-house laboratory

As well as diagnostic imaging, Apex Vets’ diagnostic facilities include an in-house laboratory for testing a variety of samples. This works hand-in-hand with our imaging facilities to ensure a swift, accurate diagnosis of your pet’s health condition. We can also run progesterone blood tests in house with a short turnaround time.
