Once a year Injectable Flea and Tick Protection for Dogs

We are pleased to offer a new long acting flea and tick injection for dogs at Apex Vets (Bravecto Injectable).

It is available as an alternative to monthly tablets, and we are delighted to announce it is also available as part of our Healthy Pets Club . We are also happy for clients to continue to use Simparica Tablets, they are very similar in action and effectiveness.

This preventative provides 12 months of continuous and robust protection against fleas and ticks with a single injection, helping to protect your dog all year round without the need for monthly tablets or spot-on. We have already administered this to over 300 dogs. Those that dislike tableting particularly appreciate this option.

How does it work?
The injection is given by our team in the same way we give a vaccine. When fleas or ticks attach and feed, they are exposed to the active ingredient, which kills them effectively, providing reliable, long-term protection from a single dose. This removes concerns about missed doses or tablets being spat out and ensures consistent protection once administered. We give this injection at our patient's vaccination appointments to minimise visits and cost to our clients.

Fleas and ticks can be active throughout the year and may transmit diseases, such as lymes disease. Year-round protection is important, and Bravecto offers a simple, effective and dependable option when given at your dog's vaccination appointment.

This injection is also considered a greener option for flea and tick control. One long-acting treatment per year markedly reduces the overall amount of parasiticides released into the environment compared with tablets and spot-ons.
